Good Enough

I love the Good Housekeeping articles that talk about good enough. Life is moving so fast, I think this is a good philosophy to adopt. Let go of perfection and the Martha Stewart image and be happy with “Good Enough”.  Yes, taxes and brain surgery need to be done just right/perfect but for most other things in life good enough will keep us moving forward. Perfectionism stops most of us in our tracks and we stay paralyzed. For me, that means doing nothing on a project or leaving it uncompleted.

I am learning to adopt the thought “Do something. You can improve something but you can’t improve nothing.” If you find yourself stuck, either put the item aside until tomorrow and if that doesn’t help, get some assistance.

There is no right or wrong way to organize. Try something and if you don’t like it, try something else. The point is, try something – anything. Have the thought, "I am going to make improvements. I can always change it later, but I am going to do something." Good enough is better than nothing. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
